| Yamanaka Suwa Shrine, a local shrine hidden in the forest near Mt. Fuji |
While wandering around Yamanaka lake, I stumbled across this little shrine. Quiet, peaceful. It's not the sort of shrine you'll find in a guidebook. There were sand rings and small sumo pavilions in the path leading to the shrine's main building. At this shrine I got a rather unique omamori, dedicated to the protection of women, babies, and childbirth.
