氷川神社のお守り A Charm from Hikawa Shrine

This slightly battered omamori came from Omiya city in Saitama prefecture. For those not familiar with Japanese geography, Saitama is a state beside Tokyo. In 2005, I did a homestay program and stayed with a family in Omiya. The multi-colored cord is particularly handsome, I think, but the bell itself is rather plain. But I like that the shrine name is on the bell. The sides have an arrow design.

I purchased this omamori before I even knew what omamori were. It is my only Saitama omamori at the moment, and I remember the small shrine containing an impressive garden with bonsai displays. Maybe one I can return for photographs.
