大猷院のお守り An Anniversary Coin Omamori from Taiyuin

The people at Taiyuin were terribly rude. I suppose that's my main memory of the temple dedicated to Tokugawa Iemitsu, not the architecture, the gardens, or the view. I remember trying to purchase this commemorative omamori in the main hall and being told to wait a moment as the attendant turned to the Japanese woman behind me. And then I watched three more people purchase their things as I was ignored. I left the temple pretty upset. I ended up buying this at the complex entrance, but my attitude had soured.

This omamori is meant to celebrate the 360th anniversary of Tokugawa Iemitsu, the mind behind the elaborate shrine, Toshogu.
